He continues to look forward to assimilating his passions for community service, international travels, and plastic surgery to also help those in medically underserved countries through medical mission trips. He was granted the opportunity during his plastic surgery training to participate in an ACGME accredited rotation in Ha Noi, Vietnam with NUOY Reconstructive International to help make reconstructive surgical care accessible by disseminating innovative surgical knowledge and promoting cross-sector collaboration for craniofacial anomalies. This was a life changing experience that brought personal awareness to the importance of global surgery to reduce inequalities by equal access to health care. He also experienced firsthand the significance of the lack of resources that limits comprehensive patient care, which led him to donate blood that was life-saving to pediatric patients. He believes these experiences are vital in developing skills to provide culturally competent and appropriate medical/surgical services to all people.
